DOVER, NH: The Cooperative Alliance for Seacoast Transportation, more commonly known as COAST, has hired Joanne Muckenhoupt as its first Director of Development. Muckenhoupt will be responsible for building financial resources that will allow the organization to fulfill their mission of providing a broad range of public transportation services, connecting and coordinating a robust network of options for everyone in the Greater Seacoast.
In her new role, Muckenhoupt will work in collaboration with the Executive Director, leadership team and Board of Directors to plan and execute the organization’s growing fundraising activities, and will play a central and critical role in securing the remaining funds needed to build a new administrative, operations and maintenance facility in Dover, NH.
For more than 40 years, COAST has been connecting people and communities in the Greater Seacoast region. In the last 15 years in particular, COAST has experienced its most significant growth. The new facility is one part of a $7 million capital campaign that will support the future of public transportation—and the economic, social, and environmental benefits it generates—while laying the foundation for COAST’s next 40 years and beyond.
Muckenhoupt most recently served as Director of Development for Cross Roads House in Portsmouth, NH. A persuasive storyteller who brings a strong background in marketing, outreach and relationship management, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire.
“This role requires a dynamic leader who can effectively engage stakeholders in the business and philanthropic community who are ready to invest in COAST’s mission of connecting people and communities across the Seacoast,” said Rad Nichols, Executive Director of COAST. “Joanne’s local experience and her passion for how public transportation can change people’s lives made her the right choice to be our first Director of Development.”
COAST’s capital campaign is ongoing, and businesses and individuals interested in contributing can learn more about the campaign, the new facility project and the naming opportunities available for donors over $15,000 at www.coastbus.org.
