Travel Training
Gain independence by knowing more about the transportation services available in the area and learning to ride the bus!
COAST and TripLink provide Travel Training presentations to groups of seniors or individuals with disabilities. We teach people to how to use the bus to travel throughout the Seacoast without having to register or call in advance.
Travel Training topics include:
- In-depth information on using the COAST and Wildcat Transit bus systems
- Rules for riding the bus
- How to read the bus schedules
- How to plan your trip
- How much it costs
COAST can provide on-site group format trainings for likely riders (e.g., Housing Authority complexes, senior centers, agency workshops, secondary and post-secondary schools, worksites, community events, etc.) as well as for agency staff so that they will be better equipped to help their clients.
Information is also provided on the Demand Response programs in the Seacoast that pick riders up at their homes and bring them to medical appointments, shopping trips, etc. This includes shopper shuttles, volunteer driver programs, and other door-to-door services.
We prefer to have a minimum of ten attendees at a training. These services are provided for free. We need a minimum of two weeks notice to schedule staff and resources for trainings.
