COAST takes the health and safety of our passengers and staff seriously and we are monitoring the rapidly evolving coronavirus situation. As a critically important provider of public services, COAST will proceed with continued operations unless we receive a directive from government or public health officials to do otherwise. We will continue to evaluate the situation and adapt as necessary. We will communicate any changes or cancellations of COAST services immediately through social media, DoubleMap app, on our website, and through the media.
When in public spaces such as while riding public transit, it is strongly recommended to practice good hygiene to help prevent the spread of this illness:
- stay home when you are sick,
- avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth,
- cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue (or your arm/elbow), then throw the tissue in the trash as soon as possible, and
- wash your hands often with soap and water (or sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol) for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
Locally, the Strafford County Public Health Network is an excellent source of information on public health emergency preparedness.
