In honor of all who have served our country, on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11, 2017, all United States military personnel who are currently active, or previously served, will be able to board any COAST bus or service for free. Upon boarding on Veterans Day, US military personnel can present a retiree or active duty military ID, a DD-214 (discharge papers), or a VA card as evidence of their service. Spouses and dependents boarding with military personnel will also be allowed to ride for free.
Veterans Day, also known as Armistice Day or Remembrance Day, is the anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended World War I. The armistice was formally signed on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.
Let us never forget the sacrifices our service men and women made, and continue to make for us today, enabling us to live in a free country. It is with great honor that COAST salutes these brave men and women.
