The Cooperative Alliance for Seacoast Transportation (COAST) will be adding an additional day of service to its Route 7 On Demand service that operates in Exeter, Stratham, and Newmarket.

Beginning Friday, October 4, the advance reservation service, which currently runs on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 9:30am - 5:15pm, will add Fridays to its regular schedule. The additional day of service is being funded by a generous grant from a local foundation and will continue until September 26, 2025.

Dover, NH: COAST, the nonprofit provider of public transit services on the Seacoast, recently published a summary of the financial contributions being made by the communities that are connected by their services.

Dover, NH: Cooperative Alliance for Seacoast Transportation, more commonly known as COAST, will see its funding from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) reduced by $341,980 overall for FY24. The decrease is a result of changes in the calculations that determine apportionments coupled with increased growth in urbanized areas nationwide that outpaced overall funding increases.

Dover, NH: COAST has received two $10,000 grants on behalf of the Alliance for Community Transportation (ACT) from Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and the Greater Rochester Community Health Foundation. The funds will support ACT and will serve as a match to federal funds.

COAST has been selected as Nonprofit of the Year by the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce. The announcement was made on April 16 and the award will be given at the chamber’s 2024 Annual Awards Gala on May 9.
